Vertical and Horizontal Stripes
Making and designing t-shirts, gowns and even under wears is not as easy as it may seem; this task is an art, and therefore requires genius. Each polka-dot and stripes of any garment serves a purpose. Saying this, it should follow that when one is shopping for clothes, he should be very choosy so as not to take for granted the purpose of the designs of each garment; the design of each garment should be seen working an effect on the wearer.

One of the design mostly used in garments are vertical and horizontal stripes. In choosing which stripes are most fitting for a person, the size of the wearer should be taken into account. A person who is relatively huge in size should choose a garment with vertical stripes, and avoid another that has horizontal stripes. The direction of the stripes will create an illusion of thinness to the wearer; conversely, choosing clothing with horizontal stripes would make the wearer seem larger than he really is.
On the other hand, if a person is rather thin, he should choose to wear something with horizontal stripes and avoid garments with vertical stripes. Wearing clothing with horizontal stripes would make an impression of a fit body; on the contrary, making a skinny person wear vertical stripes would make him even skinnier.
